Tracey’s Seal of Approval: All Twilight, All the Time…

In honor of the release of Breaking Dawn Part 2 on DVD this week (my reserved copy is on it’s way!!!) I present this week’s listing of blog posts, all about Twilight, that gets Tracey’s Seal of Approval:

Breaking Dawn, Part 2, Yep I Saw It: Edward is not a creepy stalker! People, do you remember the love you had when you were a teenager? How you spent hours on the phone talking to him/her? If you had superpowers, you don’t think you would have used them to be with the one you loved/crushed all the time? Let’s give him a break.

Part 2 Has #8 opening: You can add my $15 to that box office. With my three other “dates” to see the movie, I’ll contribute another $45. Yup, they couldn’t do it without me. :-)

Immortal Monday, Twilight Saga’s Breaking Dawn Part 2: A good recap/introduction to the major groups in the Twilight universe.

I love reading good blogs. I love Twilight even more. Did you go see the movie? If so, what did you think?   If not, what are you waiting for? ;-)

Thank You, Twilight!

What am I thankful for?

An incredible husband, three wonderful children, supportive friends and a loving family. I’m really very blessed.

But let’s get real.

I’m thankful for the dream Stephenie Meyers had of a boy and a girl laying in a pretty meadow, a dream that turned into the Twilight story.

I’m not ashamed to say I’m thankful for every moment I was able to slip away into the town of Forks and lust over a vampire and a werewolf. I’m thankful for the screaming matches between me (a real person) and Bella (a fictional character) because it meant I was invested in the story I was reading. I’m thankful for the movie franchise and the people in charge of casting, for giving me the delicious eye candy known as Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner. (It took me a couple of years to get over my guilt about the latter one–he was so young! He’s 20 now- guilt be-gone.)

I’m thankful for the last movie in the Twilight series, although I’m sad that they’re gone. [I'll relive every glorious (and not so glorious) moment on blu-ray. :-) ]

But mostly, I’m thankful for a set of books which introduced a new generation of girls to reading and hopefully, to reading romance.

This past weekend, I was thankful for other Twilight fans who joined me at the movie theatre for the Twilight Saga Marathon, all of the movies, back to back, leading up to the release of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Part 2. It was so much fun, to be surrounded by true fans. We laughed, shared stories, cried and gasped. People are not shy about making fun of these movies, so to be with other women people who felt like I did was liberating, and the camaraderie was quick and strong.

When the credits rolled, I was reluctant to leave the theatre, feeling that this was truly the end of an era. But I don’t regret any moment of the past four years spent as a Twi-Mom. It was a blast.

I can’t wait for the new story that will capture my imagination and love as thoroughly and completely as the Twilight Saga.

Happy Thanksgiving!

It’s the end of a Saga!

Today we say good-bye to characters who’ve been a part of our lives for the past four years.

Edward, Bella & Jacob.

For fans, it’s been a great run; if you read my post on mental vacay days, you know I break out the previous movies to watch on a regular basis.

These movies have entertained me, my mother, my sister-in-law, my close friends… we’ve all sat together and got lost in the story of the vampire who fell in love with the human he wanted to kill.

In honor of the premiere, here’s the official trailer for  The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2. Grab your hanky and prepare to say good-bye.

Enjoy and have a wonderful weekend.

Tracey’s Seal of Approval: The Comic-Con Edition

Sometimes you go in for a little nip/tuck and everything goes fine. Sometimes, complications arise. With an extra week of rest, my blog is shiny, new and ready to work!

And now that I’ve beat that metaphor to death, here’s this week’s listing of blog posts that get Tracey’s Seal of Approval:

All blogs come from the crazy-fun that is San Diego Comic Con.

FIREFLY’S 10-YEAR ANNIVERSARY: So much love for a show that lasted only one season. It’s a great one. If you’ve never watched Firefly, what are you waiting for?

There’s no place I can be, since I’ve found Serenity, and you can’t take the sky from me…

NEW CAST REVEALS FOR GAME OF THRONES: The deafening calls for the Khaleesi were heard throughout the convention center.

BREAKING DAWN, PT 2-THE BEGINNING OF THE END: It is possible to cover this event without snark or condescension. Thank you, moviefone, for information without the attitude.

I love reading good blogs. Which ones are you reading?

It’s baaack… Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2

You will find no apologies here for my love of the Twilight Saga, both the books and the movies. This week we got a trailer and our first look at the final {sob} movie.

Are you sad this is the last movie? Will Hunger Games take its place for you? Enjoy and have a wonderful weekend.

Mental vacay day

Can I share a secret with you?

Once every few months, I check out.  Maybe I need a mommy and/or wife break.  Maybe it’s rainy and I just want to snuggle under a blanket.  Or maybe it’s Tuesday.  Either way, I rush through breakfast, get the kids out the house and then I…

… make a cup of tea, get my blanket and pillow, curl up on the couch and watch a movie marathon.

I LOVE those days!

I have three marathon categories: Jane Austen, The Twilight Saga (up through Breaking Dawn, Part 1) or Wedding Movies.  Without a doubt, Jane Austen is my favorite.  I’ll start with Pride & Prejudice (Matthew McFayden, not Colin Firth), move on to Sense & Sensibility (PBS version) and finish with Persuasion (Rupert Penry-Jones).  When I want to switch it up, I’ll swap out S&S or Persuasion with Emma or Northanger Abbey.

Without devolving into my own Team Edward vs. Team Jacob debate ( I can do both sides- heh heh), I can watch the movies straight through and never tire of them.  Of course, the week after the Twilight marathon, the only music I listen to are the Twilight soundtracks.  Yes, I’m a HUGE fan.

The Wedding Movie marathon consist of The Wedding Date, Four Weddings & a Funeral and My Best Friend’s Wedding.  I’m a little ashamed to admit that on occasion, this marathon ends with a viewing of my own wedding video.

It’s a day of romance and I love it.  The drama, the angst, the passion, the happily ever after.  I get lost in their worlds and often need a few minutes to re-acclimate to present day.

Do you take mental vacay days?  What do you do?  And if you had a movie marathon, which movies would you watch and why?
